Dear photography/art lovers: My name is José Miguel Angulo and I was born in Madrid in 1969. Aerospace  engineer and photographer, I developed my professional career in the aviation sector in Spain, The Netherlands and Germany. 

 Regarding photography, I started more than 25 years ago, just by “accident” with a Nikon film camera that I still keep and use today. During all this time I could travel around the world visiting numerous countries and getting in contact with different people and cultures, helping me to refine a genuine and immersive photographic style. 

During the most recent times, I jumped into the professional photography arena and was working several years on a very demanding wildlife photography project in Amboseli (Kenya), which inspired my very first book “The Giants Whisper”, an XL limited edition book with hardback and dust cover. 

Fully committed to support the wildlife ecosystem in Africa, I wish to contribute with my photography work to charity projects in the region to protect the wildlife and to support a sustainable development of the local Maasai community in Kenya.

I work to produce soulful and evocative photos which immerse the viewer into incredible scenery, conveying emotions of unique moments, where you could perceive the personality and character of majestic animals.  All my wildlife photographs are limited editions for art collectors, wildlife and photogaphy lovers.

My photography  work has been recently awarded on the following contests:

• 1st Place of the 2024 INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS  (IPA-Wildlife Professional)

• Finalist in the Black & White Photo Awards 2024 - Professional Category

• Honorable mention in the REFOCUS AWARDS 2025 (Wildlife Professional Photography)
