Giraffes cross the bed of the dry lake in the direction of the few water holes available where to quench their thirst. The advantage is that when they cross this place, they can be spotted from a long distance due their unique silhouettes. But one of the challenges to photograph them here is that it is difficult to get close. They tend to run away very fast. In this occasion the light was absolutely fantastic and with the sun behind me I could use a high shutter speed to freeze the movement and keep it very sharp. The luck was on my side and I took this photo where the three giraffes are perfectly aligned for a moment in their run, and that makes this photo unique. They are another extraordinary habitant of the dusty plains in Amboseli, and it was beautiful and worth to work photographing them.
