After many attempts I could finally be with Craig, just face to face, in open space. This was a very intense time together, and although there is always a degree of anxiety being so close in front of such unique wild creature, I have to recognize and emphasize the beauty of the moment. He seemed to accept my presence and let me take this image, which is one of my favorites of him. Craig is one of the few big tuskers still alive (might be not more that twenty in the world) and considered by many the biggest elephant in the planet. Apart from that, which really impressed me is the kind of connection I could establish with him. His attitude and pose, the general composition of the picture, the beautiful texture in the sky… an the light, were all on my side that morning in Amboseli. But the moment will remain always in my memory.
