It is very rare to see a scene like this. And it is even more rare to be able to photograph. I was surprised how calm these buffalos were with my presence just a few meters in front. The day was absolutely beautiful, the sky had plenty of texture due to the clouds, and the light was simply fantastic. This was a truly reward to all the efforts made before. While I have to spend many hours in Amboseli scouting the plain, looking for the wild animals, accepting one failure after another…, it is important to keep working on that and do not give up. The three buffalos were completely still, being the one in the centre looking somewhere else while the two “guardians” focused on me, giving a sense of peace and calm. The beautiful background, the mood, …. Everything worked well, giving the image a pictorial touch. A trully beautiful memory.
