A close photograph of my buffalo series in Amboseli. This was not planned or foreseen, but while scouting the vast plain of Amboseli with my guide Raymond, the opportunity arose and we could surprisingly get close to this male buffalo. It was needed sometime in his proximity to let this buffalo to become familiar with our presence. He was focused on me and getting closer would have been very risky and we didn’t want to compromise our safety so much. I was with my upper body hanging out of the car to get a low level perspective, and using the silent mode of my camera to not disturb this extraordinary wild animal. After several attempts I could made this strong photograph , which conveys a mixed mood. I could feel the enormous courage of this creature, but I can not explain it with words. Might be this is why it is better to let this photograph to talk by itself.
